Labour MP Naz Shah has said the comments which saw her suspended from the party were anti-Semitic. Ms Shah apologised in April for online posts, including one suggesting Israel should be moved to the United States. The post was brought to light by the Guido Fawkes website, which also highlighted a post in which she appeared to liken Israeli policies to those of Hitler.
A BBC presenter has apologised after an imam who questioned the Tory leadership contenders about Islamophobia was found to have made critical comments about Israel. In tweets unearthed by the Guido Fawkes website, Mr Patel wrote: “Every Political figure on the Zionist’s payroll is scaring the world about Corbyn. They don’t like him. He seems best suited to tackle them!” He also shared an image endorsing the relocation of Israel to the US as a way of solving the Israel/Palestine conflict.
Rather worryling, this man is also a school deputy head!
The Trump administration is working to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organisation, the White House said on Tuesday. The designation will bring economic and travel sanctions against Egypt's oldest Islamist movement, with more than a million members across the Middle East. The decision follows a White House visit by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in April. Mr Sisi asked US President Donald Trump to make the move, US media said.
A primary school teacher says he has received threats from parents amid protests over teachings about LGBT rights and homophobia. Demonstrations against the classes have been held outside Parkfield Community School in Alum Rock, Birmingham. The Assistant head, who is gay, said he had received "nasty emails" and threats, including one which warned he "wouldn't last long".
“It all started with the publication of the Satanic Verses and how people pushed me away. That’s why I always say I am one of Rushdie’s children. I was radicalised by white liberals.” So what is the point that the BBC is trying to make? This: if we would all just submit to Sharia blasphemy laws, and stop criticizing Islam, then Muslims will be warm and cuddly and not wage jihad against us. And of course the BBC is right. The jihadis won’t need to fight us if we have already surrendered.
A woman who mutilated her three-year-old daughter has become the first person in the UK to be found guilty of female genital mutilation (FGM). The 37-year-old mother from east London wept in the dock as she was convicted after a trial at the Old Bailey.
An organisation of mosques says it "unequivocally" rejects government proposals to require madrassas in England to be registered and inspected. The Northern Council of Mosques, representing 400 mosques, says this "encroaches" on religious freedom. The Muslim supplementary schools would have to comply with plans for tighter scrutiny over "out-of-school education settings" if the plans were introduced. The government's consultation on the proposals closes on Monday. And the Department for Education has indicated that it makes "no apology" for wanting to ensure children are

Britain's madrassas have faced more than 400 allegations of physical abuse in the past three years, a BBC investigation has discovered. But only a tiny number have led to successful prosecutions. The revelation has led to calls for formal regulation of the schools, attended by more than 250,000 Muslim children every day for Koran lessons.
British schoolgirls have been pressured by their fellow students into having female genital mutilation, a campaigner against the practice has said.
Another article about FGM that will not name the reason it occurs and why it is so difficult to oppose. So to clear it up, FGM continues because Islamic clerics insist on it, and they do so because Mohammed specifically recommended it. https://t.co/MFjB5XiWFz
Islam is the fastest growing religion in the UK, with the number of Muslims almost doubling in the last few years from 1.5 million in 2001 to 2.71 million in the latest census, 2011. A small but increasing number of people are also choosing to leave the religion and many say doing so has led them to be rejected by their family and friends and - in some cases - threatened with violence. Benjamin Zand spoke to ex-Muslims.
