A Christian man has been sentenced to death in Pakistan after being accused of sharing blasphemous material about the Prophet Muhammad on  the defendant’s lawyer has said. Nadeem James, 35, was arrested in July last year after a close friend of his accused him of sharing anti-Islamic material, and he was sentenced on blasphemy charges on Friday. Blasphemy is a criminal offence in Muslim-majority Pakistan, and insults against the Prophet Muhammad are punishable by death. Most cases are filed against members of minority communities.
