Please take a few minutes to raise this with the BBC. The more complaints they receive, the harder they will find it to ignore us and if posting a letter to them please remember to add your address at the top of the letter. The BBC can be contacted to complain about their coverage of sharia by the following means:

  • Online: Make a complaint
  • Phone: 03700 100 222* or 03700 100 212* (textphone) *24 hours, charged as 01/02 geographic numbers
  • Post: BBC Complaints, PO Box 1922, Darlington, DL3 0UR

A suggested copy of a letter to send them can be downloaded here. View the letter here.

Please don't accept a generalised reply that doesn't commit the BBC to broadcasting the points raised. If their response doesn't commit them to any postive action to broadcast the points made and a more impartial stance in the future, please ask for a further response requesting that the BBC will do so in future. Specifically ask them to:

1. Commit to having representatives of groups that seek that abolition of sharia councils in any future debates on sharia. e.g. Anne Marie Waters

2. That they will broadcast all relevant facts that were omitted in the programmes mentioned, particularly the ECHR judgement summary, in the near future in the Victoria Derbyshire and Sunday Morning Live programmes.

If their response is still doesn't commit them to take those steps, please use their procedure to raise the issue with BBC’s Editorial Complaints Unit. Their reply will tell you the person to contact for this step.

Finally, if they still won't commit to the above actions then please raise the issue as an appeal to the BBC Trust. Their contact details are:
