Sharia law has been recognised by a British court for the first time after a judge made a landmark divorce ruling which could change the way Islamic marriage and divorce works in the UK. The High Court ruled that an estranged couple's Islamic faith marriage, conducted in a ceremony called a nikah, falls under British matrimonial law despite it not being legally recognised as such.
Mr Macron confessed that Islamic radicalism had also “won" in some neighbourhoods and was "in the process of winning" in others. He promised to share information with local mayors on individuals who figure on a terror watchlist and to step up the fight against racism and anti-Semitism.
Is the ready availability of halal food and halal products in the West just a harmless aspect of multiculturalism, or is it an indication of something much more sinister? That various groups in Australia and elsewhere might want to avail themselves of special and specific foods is one thing.
But if this is part of a larger attempt to make free and democratic nations sharia-compliant, then we may well need to sit up and take notice. The truth is, creeping sharia is well under way throughout the West, and halal foods are in fact a part of all this. I have already written about the matter, and encourage you to look at some of my earlier pieces on this: billmuehlenberg.com/2010/07/15/concerns-about-halal-foods/
A Greek court was wrong to prioritise sharia 'law' provisions over those of the country's domestic legal code, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled. The ECHR ruled that the Greek Court of Cassation's decision to allocate a man's legacy according to the principles of sharia 'law' was incorrect. It ruled
Female Muslim leader says they have a right to support sharia laws & Islamic state (caliphate).
"Nothing radical about wanting caliphate or sharia."
From an Islamic point of view, she is correct. From a democatic point of view, Sharia law is incompatible with Western values.
Shari'a is not just a law but a way of life, ideology and political movement, according to the Sharia laws:
– There is no freedom of religion or freedom of speech.
Channel 4 has commissioned a documentary titled The Truth About Muslim Marriage, to be shown this Tuesday. It examines whether Britain’s centuries-old marriage laws need to be updated to reflect and better serve today’s multifaith society. The sighs and groans have already begun from Muslims about this on my social media.
On Wednesday, we saw our fears come true. While Islamists will receive millions to conduct their Sharia agenda in Canada, Muslim critics of jihad, polygamy, FGM and Sharia have been left on their own to fight global Islamofascism.
Islamic apologists in the West routinely insist that Islam has no death penalty for apostasy, but as always, reality is otherwise. The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law. It’s based on the Qur’an: “They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies until they emigrate for the cause of Allah. But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them and take not from among them any ally or helper.” (Qur’an 4:89)
Religion has become more important to the Netherlands Muslim community over the past 10 years, due in part to rising tensions between population groups and a growing feeling of exclusion, the government’s socio-cultural think-tank SCP said in a new report.
"The growing religiousness is not an expression of marginalization. We are talking about people who are well-integrated, but who want to be religious". — Professor Viggo Mortensen.
"The vision is an Islamic state -- Islamic society... Muslims will prefer sharia rule. But the vision for twenty years from now is for sharia law to be part of Germany, that sharia will be institutionalized in the state itself". — "Yusuf", in a documentary series, False Identity.
"I will pick them one by one -- I will start with people around me... If every Muslim would do the same in his surroundings, it can happen with no problem... you don't confront him [the German] with force; you do it slowly... There will be clashes, but slowly the clashes will subside, as people will accept reality." — "Yusuf", in a documentary series, False Identity.
Europe will still exist but, as with the great Christian Byzantine Empire that is now Turkey, will it still embody Judeo-Christian civilization?
Non-Muslim inmates at the high-security Long Lartin jail have been forced by the gangs to stop playing "Western" music and take down pictures of women from their cells, according to one former prison officer there. Prisoners at the jail, although allowed to cook their own food, are not allowed to prepare pork for fear of offending the Muslim inmates, the officer said.
Graphic video has emerged online showing a mob of baton-wielding Islamists attacking other Muslims in a refugee camp in Greece reportedly for not observing the Ramadan fast. Early unconfirmed Kurdish media reports claim 4 men were killed and many others injured as the group of attackers entered refugee tents with weapons Friday afternoon at a crowded camp in Moria on the eastern Aegean island of Lesbos.
For the second time in 6 years the ‘Islam’ party will participate in Belgium’s municipal elections. The party wants to create an Islamic State and separate men and women in public transport, Belgian newspaper HLN reports. “Our goal is a 100% Islamic State, but we don’t mean we want to oblige the headscarf,” the party’s founder Redouane Ahrouch says.
They come as "refugees" and then want to impose Sharia laws of Islam. People in Denmark are starting to wake up, they take to the streets to protest against Sharia laws. On the other hand, Muslims (immigrants and refugees) take to the streets waving Jihadi flags and calling to impose Sharia laws in Denmark.
A gang of five men beat a Somali teenager to death because of a row over Muslims drinking alcohol, a court heard today. Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim, 17, was repeatedly hit across the head with a samurai sword, baseball bat, machete and metal pole after being chased in Sefton Park, Liverpool, in March this year.
"The man stems from a good family, unlike the woman." With this argument, a Swedish court has acquitted an Iraqi man charged with abusing his wife, sparking outrage over the first instance where "Sharia Law" was applied by the Nordic nation's legal system.
SHARIA law is being enforced in the playground by Muslim schoolboys who are telling girls what is allowed even though they know little about the faith themselves, a report has revealed. The trend has become so common that the word Haram – referring to what is banned by Sharia law – is now regularly being heard in playgrounds throughout Austria, spawning the so-called 'generation haram'. The shocking claim follows an investigation carried out by Austrian magazine Biber that said Muslim schoolboys are increasingly taking it upon themselves to tell girls how to behave. The repor
Steven Ellis and Jason Hendry were told tensions were high as the EDL was about to march while Muslims celebrated Ramadan. Two animal lovers were branded paedophiles and pelted with stones by dozens of men for wearing mankinis on a sponsored walk. Steven Ellis, 41, and brother-in-law Jason Hendry, 22, had to be rescued by police after being attacked by outraged residents in a city street [Birmingham]. The duo, who were raising money for a dogs’ home, said officers told them the skimpy outfits had offended Muslims living along the route.
Sadikur Rahman says implementing official recommendations on sharia 'courts' would entangle civil and religious law and undermine vulnerable women's rights. The Government should instead secularise the marriage laws. Ten years ago today Rowan Williams suggested the UK should "face up to the fact" that some of its citizens do not relate to the British legal system and said the adoption of certain aspects of sharia 'law' in the UK seemed "unavoidable". Now we're hearing similar noises again, after last week's publication of the Government's long-awaited review on sharia councils. When the review came out the Home Office thankfully said it would not regulate the councils, which would have conferred effective legitimacy on them and further eroded the wall between civil and religious law. But it added that it would consider its other recommendations. It is therefore worth reflecting on some of the implications these could have.
A controversial review into the state of Sharia law in the United Kingdom and the bodies administering it has revealed the British government to be unaware of exactly how many of the Islamic law councils are operating in the country, an admission of systemic discrimination against women, including the victim of forced marriage being asked to appear alongside her family, with an “inappropriate” adoption of civil legal terms used.
Islam is incompatible with Italy’s values and freedoms, the leader of the hard-Right League party warned on Thursday, as he stepped up aggressive campaigning ahead of the country’s impending election. Matteo Salvini, who holds an unlikely ambition to become prime minister after elections next month, said Italy should not go down the same path as the UK where, he claimed, Islamist courts have superseded the secular, common law justice system. “I don’t want to end up like Great Britain, which has Islamic courts instead of British courts,” he said.
"We must expect further attacks by individuals or terror groups. Islamist terrorism is the biggest challenge facing the BfV and we see it as one of the biggest threats facing the internal security of Germany." — Hans-Georg Maaßen, President of Germany's BfV domestic intelligence agency.
Nearly half (45%) of all crime suspects in Berlin in 2016 were migrants, according to official statistics published by the Berliner Morgenpost.
Thieves broke into an immigration office in the Moabit district of Berlin and stole up to 20,000 blank passports and other immigration documents as well as official stamps and seals.
Around 30,000 rejected asylum seekers have disappeared and the government has no idea where they are, according to Bild.
"One cannot kill millions of Jews so you can bring millions of their worst enemies in their place." — German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
A hundred Islamists are now openly enforcing Sharia law on the streets of Berlin, according to local police. The self-appointed morality police involve Salafists from Chechnya, a predominantly Sunni Muslim region in Russia. The vigilantes are using threats of violence to discourage Chechen migrants from integrating into German society; they are also promoting the establishment of a parallel Islamic legal system in Germany. German authorities appear unable to stop them.
The new swimming pool in the German city of Bonn, will be equipped with a curtain to create a separate area for Muslim women. Earlier the city already introduced gender-segregated swimming hours, during which only women were allowed. Especially Muslim women were given the opportunity to swim and bath unobserved by men. But now the city has gone a step further with a completely separated basin with a huge curtain that blocks view.
The army may be called in to halt a gang surge in immigrant areas.
The blast was so powerful that it shook windows a mile away. Ahmad’s first thought was that someone had thrown yet another bomb at the police. He was right. On Wednesday night an explosive device was hurled at the police station in Rosengard, a troubled area of Malmo, Sweden’s third largest city. Attacks on the police are increasingly frequent. Rosengard’s force works from a black fortress of reinforced concrete with narrow windows and a 10ft-high electric fence.
I AM accustomed to being hectored by Islamists, frightbats, anti-vaccination fruitcakes and an assortment of social justice warriors — aka government-funded Twitter trolls. But last week, I had the surreal experience of being scolded by an ABC host for not being sufficiently supportive of an Islamic activist advocating for sharia law. ABC radio drive host Rafael Epstein had the gall to admonish me, a migrant who escaped a country under Islamic law, for not supporting an advocate of Islamic law. It’s akin to a freed slave being criticised for a fear of slavery and reluctance t
As police announce, Friday, just after 4 PM, a 51-year-old and his 43-year-old wife from Cottbus wanted to visit the Blechen-Carré on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, when they were attacked by three Syrian youths aged 14, 15 and 17. They demanded precedence, says police spokesman Ines Filohn. They also demanded that the woman should show respect to them. When the woman refused to do so, the youths attacked her husband.
What is "harmful content" according to the new Facebook guide for Muslims? "Islamophobia, anti-Muslim hatred, far right extremism and terrorist inspired violent extremist content".
The guide does not mention Islamic incitement to violence, which is rampant on social media and -- unlike the other content mentioned -- has deadly and tragic consequences in the real world. Most of those who perpetrate terrorist attacks in the real world are Muslims -- not "Islamophobes," anti-Muslims or right wing extremists.
Lakin v. Facebook is a lawsuit, representing 20,000 Israeli plaintiffs, which aims to stop Facebook from "allowing Palestinian terrorists to incite violent attacks against Israeli citizens and Jews on its internet platform."
Khan convened a special meeting of Muslim ambassadors to discuss how effectively to "raise the voice of the entire Muslim world against the madness unleashed against Islam and holy personalities in the name of freedom of expression". — Pakistani Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
An Islamic judge "laughed" at a domestic violence victim who had gone to him seeking help and asked her "Why did you marry such a man?", it has been claimed. The shocking allegations have been revealed in a report into the use of sharia councils in the UK which also claims men only need to say "I divorce you" three times to separate from their wives while women need the sanction of clerics.
Lawmakers in Greece are set to limit the powers of Islamic courts operating in a border region that is home to a 100,000-strong Muslim minority. Backed by parliament's largest political parties, the draft law is set to be voted on later Tuesday. The proposal aims to scrap rules dating back more than 90 years ago and which refer many civil cases involving members of the Muslim community to Sharia law courts.
These extraordinary legal actions are almost exclusively reserved for the punishment of those who have criticized Islam.
On the contrary, it seems clear that the real reason for these prosecutions is that people in positions of authority fear violence byMuslims if their critics go unsilenced.
The same reporters and commentators who insist that it is absurd to worry about sharia coming to the West are, in fact, ideologically arm-in-arm with those in authority who are aggressively introducing sharia-style laws in the West, prosecuting speech that violates those laws, and issuing dark warnings -- in tones unbefitting public officials in a free country -- that you had better learn to be sharia-compliant or you will be sorry. The real lesson of all this is that we had better learn to be aggressive in our resistance to this proliferation of sharia-influenced prohibitions or we will, indeed, end up being very, very sorry.
The chief inspector of schools has accused hard-left activists and religious extremists of trying to stop her clampdown on illegal Muslim schools with a campaign of intimidation.
Amanda Spielman revealed that one of Ofsted’s regional offices has been forced to take additional security measures after inspectors were repeatedly sent extreme Islamic literature. She has also been targeted and received one threatening email claiming that hardline Islamists know where she lives, after Ofsted won a court case against an Islamic school that segregated girls from boys.
