  • Violence in the Bible and the Quran: A fundamental difference

    Image:
    Summary:

    Conclusion

Of course not all Christians have always interpreted Christianity in a peaceful way, and not all Muslims have interpreted Islam to be violent. Both religions have very long histories, spread across continents and complicated by racial, political and cultural factors that have influenced adherents’ interpretations of their scriptures. But the undoubtedly true observation that every major human institution will have people whom future generations regard as cruel or compassionate, wise or foolish, noble or corrupt, heroic or villainous, does not mean that Christianity and Islam do not have distinct credos. They do, and in the case of Christianity and Islam the two approaches to violence are fundamentally different. All branches of Christianity treat the stories and laws of the Old Testament – as the name suggests - as a former imperfect revelation requiring an interpretation consistent with Jesus’ perfect example of loving kindness. It is simply unimaginable that the Jesus described in the Gospels might, in different circumstances, have organised his followers to rob, kill, torture, enslave, maim and rape in the way that Mohammed did. By contrast when the Quran instructs beheadings, lashings or the amputation of fingers, hands and feet, these instructions, when given, were intended to be applied to real necks, backs and limbs. No branch of Islam has ever taught other than that this was how the Quran was intended to be interpreted when Mohammed announced it, nor that this was how Mohammed himself, as the perfect example of Islamic values, applied it, and intended it to be applied forever.

The stability, or stasis, of the technocratic era, with its hostility both to ideology and to change, has led some to see all political upset, and even politics itself, as terrifying. One consequence of technocracy is that it denuded people, especially influential people, of the means of politics, of the very language of politics, of any ability to read the world politically and to understand that politics is the clash or interplay of competing interests, not, as they had imagined it, a managerial process of ensuring the relatively healthy maintenance of social and bureaucratic life. They are utterly unprepared for politics, and so the return of politics, the very political statements of Brexit and Trump, has convinced them not simply that they face a political challenge, but that their entire class and worldview and even their existence is under threat.

  • Summary:

When officials believe all children are at risk, they miss those who are.

There is an awful familiarity to the guilty verdicts given to 20 men in  in the north of England for raping and abusing girls. These ‘grooming gang’ offences committed between 2004 and 2011, by men operating in the nighttime economy of taxi ranks and fast-food takeaways, are just the latest in a series of similar horrendous accounts of what has been happening on the streets of Rotherham, Newcastle,  and Oxford, among other places.

    ...

As Barry Sheerman, Labour MP for Huddersfield, put it, ‘No one, local authority leadership, police, many of the people that should have been taking this more seriously earlier, did’. And yet this is in stark contrast with what is going on when it comes to ‘safeguarding’ children from other supposed threats, or from their own families.

    ...

The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Exploitation in Rotherham conceded that cases of child sexual exploitation are a ‘tiny proportion of referrals and contacts to children’s social care, but they constitute a very significant proportion of the children at risk of serious injury and harm’. But between 1997 and 2013, the at least 1,400 girls estimated to have been sexually exploited by grooming gangs in the town were not protected. And yet, over that period, the inquiry report tells us: ‘Inspections frequently commend[ed] the council for its commitment to safeguarding young people.’

  • Summary:
    • As often cruelty to women happens not only behind closed doors, but in the public square, we can only guess how this display affects both women and men. Sons see how their mothers are treated; this too doubtless informs their behaviour.

    • It is important not to assume that the members of British grooming gangs consider themselves jihadis entitled to capture non-Muslim girls. They do not even appear at all pious. But knowledge of such practices is likely to have some impact on Muslims coming from countries where some form of slavery or indentured servitude still exists.

    • Sadly, in the case of Britain's grooming gangs, religious ideology does not play a role in forbidding child sexual grooming. It is important to examine just how crucial a factor this seems to have been in community silence about them.

    • There are decent Muslims everywhere who work hard to counter all the anti-social and criminal activities in which so many of their co-religionists engage and the theological positions through which they try to justify what they do. But terrorist attacks, anti-Semitic hate speech, and sexual harassment of young white women are real crimes committed by a different kind of Muslim and must be addressed as such.

And violence against women remains all too prevalent...." — Dame Louise Casey, The Casey Review, 2016.

  • Summary:

The political class’s silence on Muslim grooming gangs is shameful.

Britain is a country where a politician putting his hand on a middle-class woman’s knee causes more outrage than the sexual abuse of scores of working-class girls by men from Pakistani backgrounds. This is the conclusion we must draw from the  scandals of the past year. Or rather from the striking disparity between what becomes a #MeToo scandal and what doesn’t. A posh  causes media meltdown, Twitterstorms about ‘the patriarchy’, and soul-searching in parliament about men’s wicked behaviour, while the exploitation and rape of working-class girls in towns like Huddersfield provokes little more than an awkward tut of disapproval.

  • Summary:
    • As far back as 2013, Britain's Attorney General stated in the House of Lords that 27 police forces were then investigating no fewer than 54 alleged gangs involved in child sexual grooming.

    • Last year, Shahid Javed Burki, a former Pakistani finance minister and vice-president of the World Bank, spoke out about the treatment of women in his country, arguing that the low status given to women has had serious social, demographic, educational, and financial effects.

    • This problem is, in some measure, reflected in the UK, where Muslim women (mainly of Pakistani origin) face limitations on their participation in the workplace, in higher education, and even knowledge of the English language -- matters examined by Dame Louise Casey in her 2016 government review into opportunity and integration.

    • Bringing Pakistani attitudes into the UK, often within segregated communities, only serves to perpetuate the belief that women are intrinsically the inferiors of men in all respects.

  • Summary:

According to a  published in 2009, public perceptions depend heavily on a few key factors. Pew’s Gregory Smith explained: “One of the most powerful factors shaping views of Islam is education,” he said. “Those Americans who have more education tend to be more favorable toward Muslim Americans and Islam than Americans with less education. Interestingly, age was also a good predictor of views of Muslim Americans and Islam, with young people tend to be more favorable than were older people.”

    ...

People who dare to disclose the true nature of Islam run the risk of being castigated as bigots and hatemongers. Yet even a cursory examination of Islam’s history and Islamic texts conclusively proves the exact opposite of peacefulness. Islam was and continues to be a movement of unbridled violence. Islam was forced upon every people at the point of the sword and the imposition of backbreaking jaziyah (poll taxes) levied on those who were spared death and allowed to retain their religious beliefs. In addition to paying heavy jaziyah, the non-Muslims were treated, at best, as second class in their own homelands.

    ...

A longstanding Islamic practice is to appear to be meek while weak and to assume despotic intolerant power when strong. The recent migration of Muslims to non-Islamic lands began as a seemingly harmless, even useful, trickle of cheap and much-needed labor. Before long, greater and greater numbers of Muslims deluged the new territories, and as they grew in numbers — by means of a high birth rate as well as new arrivals — Muslims began reverting to their intolerant ways, demanding legal status for Sharia (Islamic law), the draconian laws that resemble the laws of humanity’s barbaric past.

There she goes again. British Prime Minister Theresa . Last Monday night,  at the United Jewish Israel Appeal dinner, and included in it the same libel of me that she put in the first one. Could Theresa May herself really believe this nonsense? Does she really believe that standing against jihad terror is essentially equivalent to plotting jihad mass murder?

    ...

So as far as May is concerned, Pamela Geller and I are the “Islamophobic” equivalents of Abu Hamza and Abu Qatada. May expects her audience to be familiar with Abu Hamza and Abu Qatada, and for good reason, since both are notorious in Britain, although n neither lives there now. Abu Hamza  in a super-max U.S. for, among other things, conspiring to set up a training camp for jihad terrorists in Bly, Oregon. No, I’ve never plotted, called for, or approved of any kind of terrorist or vigilante violence against anyone. Prior to the Olympics however, you may recall that Saudi Arabia got itself into bother by attempting to send an all-male team. The International Olympic Committee (which governs such things) said they weren't having that, and demanded that Saudi Arabia send some women. So it did. Sarah Attar — an American of Saudi descent — came for track-and-field, and 16 year old Wojdan Shaherkan was sent to represent the country in Judo. And all was well with the world again. Except, the women representing Saudi Arabia would do so covered from head to toe and Wojdan Shaherkan was close to being sent home in a row over whether or not she could wear the hijab while competing. Having initially said no, the Olympic bosses gave in and allowed her to cover her head. And all was well with the world again. Everywhere from the Guardian to the Daily Mail this was lauded as a huge success – a giant step forward for women. Progress had been made, they said. But had it? Or had we just normalised and accepted the separation and covering of women, and can we now expect more of the same in the future? Will Egypt's women, or Algeria's women, or Turkey's women now be required to cover from head to foot and if so, will we accept that as duly as we have done on this occasion? My question is – how much further to the edge will we allow women to be pushed?

As part of a defence to the backlash against multiculturalism that allows young women and girls in the UK to live a life of misery, Barbara Ellen asked the following question in the Guardian: "" Do you see what she did there? Not only did she declare that race is something to be tolerated (why? There's nothing to tolerate in a person's skin colour), she used race and culture interchangeably. Therefore, if you criticise a culture, you are criticising a skin colour, and hence you are a racist – which is not only a morally contemptible position, but also one which can ruin a career, a reputation, or even involve you in criminal charges. And they wonder why people are reluctant to criticise cultural practices.

We need to get this clear – race is not culture. Race is a skin colour or national or ethnic grouping and it gives no indication whatsoever of who a person is or what they stand for. Culture, on the other hand, is a series of actions which are routinely carried out within any defined community and are usually based on tradition or religion or both. If we define culture as a set of actions, and some of those actions amount to the forced enslavement and rape of young girls, then that can and should be condemned – culture or not. Cultural practices have always been condemned, fought against, and changed. It has happened all across history; it is called progress.

Why have they adopted a sharia-compliant definition of ‘Islamophobia’, and not one which is informed by the superior enlightened approach to religion which is a hallmark of Western civilisation and founded upon the fundamental freedom of religion?

  • Beyond Terror: Islam's Slow Erosion of Western Democracy

    Image:
Beyond Terror - Anne Marie Waters
    Summary:

Western democratic societies are built on an open exchange of ideas.  In recent decades, however, all criticism of one particular topic has been so consistently labeled as ‘racism’ or ‘hate’ effectively sabotaging any dialogue on this topic and making it nearly impossible for the truth to emerge. Anne Marie Waters, a British politician, did the unthinkable. She spoke out, publicly, on the topic of Islam, and having started in the liberal Labour Party (UK) is now mischaracterized as belonging to the extreme right.

Beyond Terror addresses Orwellian nature of this problem, laying out the facts about Islam's concerted and shocking efforts to undermine the fabric of Western Civilization, and how this broad movement, affecting every Western nation, is being aided and abetted by liberal political parties. This book seeks not to attack an enemy, rather to inform the populations of nations already under attack, to enable a wider discussion about immigration from the non-Western world, the teachings of the religion of Islam, and the collusion of far-left groups with Islamists and jihadists.

Anne Marie's message is connecting with millions of people.  A majority of Europeans expressed, in a 2016 survey, a desire to ban immigration from Muslim societies altogether. And yet leaders and the media in most of these nations ignore those expressing legitimate concerns about Islam as ‘racists’ or ‘bigots’.  This book reveals the opposite, that what many oppose is the spread of Islamic subversion of the rights and freedoms of women, in particular, and the societal norm of freedom of expression previously considered sacred in Western nations. Her mission is to engage in public discourse on the future of society to ensure that the rights and freedoms that we, in the West, currently enjoy will be passed on to our children.

Lucy Allan MP is fighting the good fight in Telford, asking some tough questions about the widespread child rape that was taking place there. Ms Allan and others refer to the systematic rape of children as child sexual exploitation (CSE), and I make no criticism of her for that, but I will stick to the old-fashioned term child rape as I feel it is more accurate.

Ms Allan asked in Parliament why ‘’.

I don’t think it is that complex. A 13-year-old was allegedly raped by ‘multiple perpetrators’, and they say they thought she was consenting and over 16. The CPS believe the jury will nod along when these alleged perpetrators say: ‘Yes, we thought she was consenting, this 13-year-old, and we really, really believed she was 16. We all believed, all of us, the whole gang thought this 13-year-old was having a great time.’

Amazing. A drunken date gone wrong between two 20-somethings at university will see a prosecution before you can say ‘But she invited me back and took all my clothes off.’

A 13-year-old girl with a bunch of men . . . oh, we think she consented.

  • Summary:

From very early on, Sharia judges utilized a “near endless list of ambiguities” that functioned as an “escape hatch” from corporal punishment. Even in the few Muslim majority nations where Hudud sentences are still applied (e.g., Nigeria, Sudan, Iran, and Saudi Arabia), they are infrequently carried out:

Between 1981 and 1992, there were four executions by stoning in Saudi Arabia and forty-five amputations for theft. In a one-year sample (1982-83), out of 4,925 convictions for theft, only two hands were cut off. The rest of the guilty were punished by taʿzīr [discretionary sentencing applicable to lesser crimes]. In the same time period, out of 659 convictions for Hudud-level sexual crimes, no one was stoned. Many death sentences are the result of political punishments, not the Hudud. In Nigeria’s northern states, all of which have adopted Shariah-based legal codes, a few amputations for theft have taken place. There have been at least two sentences to death for adultery, but in all cases so far ambiguities were found to release the guilty party.

Admin: Four executions by stoning and 45 amputations in a decade seems to be an acceptable price to pay for liberals to try and exculpate sharia. This article also erroneously implies sharia only appiies to Muslims when the manual of sharia clearly states that, with a few exceptions, it does apply to non-Muslims. The article also ignore the many people slaughtered by sharia vigilantes for 'blasphemy', insulting Islam etc.

It is rape of the innocents on an industrial scale. First they came for white, teenage, under class girls in Rotherham, and we did not speak out – because we did not want to be called racist.

Next they came for white, teenage, under class girls in Oxford, and we did not speak out – because we did not want to be guilty of cultural imperialism.

These are some of the hometowns of girls and women forever traumatised by their shocking childhood experiences at the hands of Muslim ‘grooming gangs’. The perpetrators of these gangs are not groomers. This is a misnomer. As Jules Gomes wrote, this is ‘’. These are rapists and some are paedophiles. And instead of helping these girls our authorities have failed them over and over again. The police, Crown Prosecution Service and social workers have shied from doing their duty, partly due to fears of being accused of racism, and partly due to their own inverse racism in perceiving the girls as ‘white trash’. The fear of naming the religion of the perpetrators of these rape gangs has overcome any sense of accountability and decency towards the victims.
